Mounted ready for framing on white card and matching backing card with cellophane protective wrapping

Overall size of the mount measures approx. 12" x 10" (which means it will fit standard size picture frame). The visible picture opening is 6.75" x 4.75"

I have acquired a large number of Collins sketches covering the period from the 1938/9These were across 2 sketch books, which can can be seen in photo's 4 & 5 (obviously you are buying the single sketch here, not the sketch books)

These sketches were used by Collins in working up her larger works - by their nature they were not signed but many carry her hand written notes and annotations.

CONDITION: Some age related discolouration to the paper and ocassional scatter marks and light creasing, typical of this type of work.

About the Artist:
Artist and teacher, born in Dorking, Surrey, daughter of the watercolourist George Edward Collins and flower painter Clare Perrin. She studied at Guildford School of Art and Royal College of Art after World War II. She is best known for her drawings of heavy horses illustrated in the Surrey Advertiser. She taught at Englefield Green School and Guildford Borough collection includes her view of North Street, Guildford.
