Mid 20th Century Etching by the artist Gillian Whaite, of a woman working with paper.
Condition:
The condition is consistent with the age and nature of artist-produced Etchings. This includes charateristic light marks to the sheet margins, which do not affect the central image and are typical of hand pulled prints of this period.

About the Artist:
Gillian Whaite was born in London in 1934, daughter of the artist Henry Clarence Whaite (1895-1978). Gillian studied at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1952-56, the University of London Institute of Education in 1958-59 and at the Royal Academy Schools in 1968-69. She became a lecturer at St. Gabriel's College of Education in 1959.
Whaite exhibited frequently throughout her career, including the Camden Arts Centre in 1982 and Royal Free Hospital in 1983. Gillian also exhibited with her father at South London Art Gallery in 1979.
Gillian passed away in 2012. Her work is held by the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA.
